ADHD Therapy for Adults
Late Diagnosis & Identity Support
ADHD in adults doesn't always look like distraction or hyperactivity. For many, it shows up as overwhelm, emotional intensity, inconsistency, exhaustion, or a constant sense of trying to "catch up" with life.
You may be formally diagnosed or questioning whether ADHD explains long-standing struggles with focus, regulation, energy, and organization. This space is for both.
You Might Relate to Things Like:
-
Feeling easily overwhelmed by daily tasks or decisions
-
Starting things with intensity, then losing momentum
-
Emotional highs and lows that feel hard to regulate
-
Difficulty with routines, structure, or consistency
-
Chronic burnout or feeling like you're always behind
-
Mental fatigue from managing life demands
-
Feeling like things take more effort than they "should"
Late-Diagnosed ADHD
It's not just about attention.
Discovering ADHD late in life can bring:
-
clarity about long-standing struggles
-
grief for missed support or misunderstanding
-
relief at having a direction to finally receive support
-
questions about identity and self-trust
How I Work
I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy to help adults with ADHD or ADHD traits understand their internal system.
We may explore:
-
parts that push hard and burn out
-
parts that avoid, shut down, or procrastinate
-
parts that feel pressure, shame, or urgency
-
and parts that are exhausted from trying to keep everything together
We won't be trying to force consistency - but to understand what's happening internally so life can feel more workable and aligned.
