Adult Autism & ADHD Assessments

Autism & ADHD Assessments
for Adults in Tennessee
Therapeutic assessments for adults who may have been missed - a research-informed, neurodiversity-affirming exploration of your traits, patterns, and lived experience.
Available virtually throughout Tennessee and in-person in Murfreesboro.
For Adults Exploring Autism & ADHD
Some adults begin questioning autism or ADHD not because something suddenly changed - but because they finally have language for what has always been there.
You may have spent years:
-
Masking, adapting, and exhausting yourself trying to keep up
-
Feeling different without being able to explain why
-
Struggling in ways that didn't make sense to others - or to you
-
Relating deeply to neurodivergent experiences and wondering if they fit
-
Being told you were "too sensitive," "too much," or "just anxious"
Some people come to an assessment seeking a formal diagnosis. Others are looking for clarity, language, validation, or simply a professional space to explore what they've long suspected. Both are welcome here.
This assessment process is collaborative and focused on understanding your lived experience - not reducing you to a checklist.
A Neurodivergent-Affirming Assessment Process
I view autism and ADHD as naturally occurring neurotypes - not deficits, disorders, or something to be fixed. My approach is conversational, trauma-informed, and built around understanding how your brain and nervous system work, rather than measuring you against a narrow standard.
This process is especially supportive for:
-
High-masking adults whose presentation was overlooked in childhood
-
Self-identified adults, who have known for a while
-
Women, men, and gender-diverse adults with non-stereotypical presentations
-
Those who are questioning and not yet sure what fits
You don't need to be certain to begin. You just need to be curious.
Adult Autism Assessment
For adults exploring autism identity, sensory differences, masking, burnout, social exhaustion, or a lifelong sense of feeling different - including those who were overlooked or misdiagnosed in childhood.
Adult ADHD Assessment
For adults exploring attention differences, emotional dysregulation, executive functioning challenges, chronic overwhelm, time blindness, or symptoms becoming worse later in life.

What are your credentials and limitations?
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Tennessee with specialized training in neurodivergent-affirming autism and ADHD assessments for adults. I use the MIGDAS-2 as the foundation for autism assessment and the DIVA-5 for ADHD.
As an LCSW, it is within my scope of practice to assess for conditions in the DSM-5. However, not all institutions accept a diagnosis from a masters-level clinician. Schools, insurance companies, and Social Security Disability may require a doctorate-level evaluation. If you plan to share your results with any institution, please confirm their requirements before beginning.
Being assessed by a masters-level clinician is appropriate in cases where you are seeking personal understanding or have confirmation that the assessment will be accepted by relevant institutions.
What does the process look like?
-
Complete a consultation call, choose your assessment type, and schedule your first appointment
-
Complete intake paperwork, online measures, and collect outside feedback from trusted sources (for focused and comprehensive assessments)
-
Attend your assessment appointments - in-depth, conversational sessions exploring your history and experiences
-
Schedule a feedback session to review results and receive personalized recommendations
Appointments can be scheduled in one or two-hour blocks. Written summaries are available upon request.
How does payment work?
-
A deposit is due one week before your first appointment and is non-refundable. Payment for each session is due at the time of the appointment.
-
I do not accept insurance. Insurance companies generally do not reimburse for adult autism or ADHD assessments. If you'd like to pursue out-of-network reimbursement, I can provide documentation - but please be aware that using insurance benefits will place a diagnosis on your medical records.
What about medication or accommodations?
If you are seeking ADHD medication, please verify with your prescribing psychiatrist that they accept a diagnosis from a masters-level clinician before beginning the assessment process. I do not prescribe medication.
If you are seeking accommodations through an institution such as a school or employer, please confirm they accept documentation from a masters-level clinician. I offer a dedicated accommodations session with letter for $200.
